This all will be over

when you look at your child,
tell me: What do you see?
those big, curious eyes
wondering constantly

make them shine, take them in
their laughter, their tears,
their lust and their hunger,
their joy and their fears

take a long, long good look
and enjoy, while you can

one day this all will be over
all will be over
one day
one day
one day
and all will be good

you sit at the pool and think
live can be good
you treat yourself well
more often you should

the water is splashing
the wind in the trees
no other sounds, only
the rustling of leaves

make every day count
and enjoy, while you can

one day this all will be over

you have a good time
going out with your friends
and you eat and you drink
the night never ends

you talk and you chill
you dance and you sing
you laugh and you feel
the life happening

take it in, live it out
and enjoy, while you can

one day this all will be over

live is not fair, it
puts you to the test
when things go wrong
does not let you rest

it bites you, it hits you,
it stings and it pains
it’s messed up by people
it hurts and it drains

the truth will prevail,
set you free again

one day this all will be over
all will be over
one day
one day
one day
and all will be good

Auf einer anderen Erde

Du siehst diese Person

Wer ist sie
Was macht sie
Lässt sie sich auch gehen

Verdrängt sie genauso
Zerreißt es sie von innen
Oder lebt sie ihre Wut aus

Krankenhaus oder Gefängnis
Strandcocktail oder Whiskeyflasche
Schafft sie es

Schafft sie es alleine
Hat sie solche Freunde
Hat sie noch ein Leben

A happier song

The other kid, he stole his toy
and actually made him cry.
He never gave him back his things
and laughed and coiled in joy.

I wish, that I could tell you, that
they finally got along
and I wish, this was a happier song
and I wish, this was a happier song

She thought, she had it all, with him
it all made sense at last
her loneliness ‚d be over soon,
forgotten ‚d be the past

I wish, that I could tell you, that
she hasn’t been left alone
and I wish, this was a happier song
and I wish, this was a happier song

They slowly stepped onto this deck
to take them far away.
They had just paid all, that they had,
and now were on their way

I wish, that I could tell you, that
they made it all along
and I wish, this was a happier song
and I wish, this was a happier song

She saw his eyes, she saw the hope,
that they were shining with
He saw her tears, he saw the truth
lurking underneath

I wish, that I could tell you, he
was fine and they were wrong
and I wish, this was a happier song
and I wish, this was a happier song

She’d left some time ago, but he
could never let her go.
With 92, she passed away,
he promised, to meet soon

I wish, that I could tell you, that
they met, where they’d belong
and I wish, this was a happier song
and I wish, this was a happier song

He once again climbed on his bike
for simply riding off,
to clear his mind and to forget
the last breath of his love

I wish, that I could tell you, that
he managed to stay strong
and I wish, this was a happier song
and I wish, this was a happier song

He read the letter, that he got,
out loud, and in his voice
you´d hear the pain, you’d hear the joy.
the tears went in his eyes

I wish, that I could tell you, what
these words were on his tongue,
but he then wrote a happier song
but he then wrote a happier song

Abstand

Was hoffentlich bald passiert.
